Are you looking for a way to get involved and make a difference in the lives of the children and family we serve? Then the Auxiliary of the United Methodist Children’s Home might be the place for you!
The Auxiliary of the United Methodist Children’s Home is composed of volunteers sharing two common goals:
- fundraising for the Children’s Home through three annual flea markets
- promotion of the Home’s ministries within the Auxiliary members’ own communities
Membership is open to all — dues are $3 annually. Just come to one of our monthly meetings or contact the Volunteer Coordinator. You may also call 404.327.5832.
Monthly meetings (the fourth Monday of most months – there are no meetings in June, July or December; May’s meeting is the third Monday) begin at 11 a.m. on the UMCH campus in Glenn Auditorium. Refreshments are served prior to the meeting, and lunch follows the meeting at 12:15.
The Auxiliary raises funds for the Children’s Home through three large flea markets annually on the Home’s campus. The flea markets are in March/April, July, and October.
Members volunteer periodically throughout the year by sorting and tagging items in preparation for these sales.
Donations are accepted for the flea market sales any time, day or night. You can leave your items on the right side of the porch of Atlanta Cottage, which is behind the Administration building (the main building in the center of campus). When you drop off your donation, you may pick up a receipt slip for your tax records, or you can stop in the Administration building during regular business hours to fill one out.
