Easter Volunteers Serve Food and Love

“The spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”  Luke 4:18

This Scripture guides the work of Always About My Father’s Business Outreach Ministry. And their commitment to truly living out the gospel message is evident. Even to the point of giving up their Easter dinners with their families to bring dinner to our family.

From setting up, cooking, serving and cleaning up, volunteers gave a total of 78 service hours on Easter Sunday. They served a delicious meal – rotisserie chicken, ham, mac and cheese, green beans, potatoes, and lots of desserts – to 60 of our children, youth and families. And most important of all, the meal was cooked and served with love.

This isn’t the first time Always About My Father’s Business has volunteered at UMCH – they also provided and served our Thanksgiving feast – and it’s not the last – they’re on our schedule to come back this weekend for landscaping and painting projects.

Thank you to these incredible volunteers who truly living out the call of scripture to serve.
